EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE, MADURAI, MARCH 18 (PAGE 3)
In the senate committee meeting held at Madurai Kamaraj University some of the university protestors raised their voice to insist upon the State government to take over the administration of the American College so as to ensure their uninterrupted classes are held until the issues regarding the management reach an amicable solution. An adjournment motion was also passed on this issue.
Classes have been suspended for the past three months and only about 200 out of 3400 students are turning up for the classes and at this stage, the decision of conducting the semester exam is NOT an advisable move, said professor Alegesan.
A three member committee appointed by the State government to solve the issue should expedite their inquiries for which the University should also extend its support, he said.
R. Karpaga Kumarevel, Vice-Chancellor, MKU said that the University will send its recommendation to hasten the inquiry committee so as to ensure regular proceedings of the classes.
