ADDING BEAUTY TO THE CAMPUS



In the beautiful campus of the American college, to add to the greenery of nature, swans were introduced in the ground water recharge pond in front of the Washburn Hall. The pond had been well protected with a mesh. The birds enjoyed the natural environment and the company of students and visitors. It was all so serene then; they added divine beauty to the pond!

Recently, after the college has been taken into the hands of the illegal occupants, as I walked along the campus, I found a remarkable change in the behavior of these birds. They seemed to be so restless and finally I found that they were not fed (probably there was no Uma Caterers* to feed them!!). I saw them looking around for food and finally trying their luck out at the waste basket of the Women’s hostel - divine birds scavenging ... :(

THEIR UNUSUAL OUTING FROM THEIR ABODE FOR FOOD

It was a sad thing to see. Of course, what else do you expect of George Selvakumar, who does not bother about human values or the legacy of the college.

It was the morning of 2nd November, when I entered the campus and around 9.15 am, I found the Maruti Omini of George being driven at a high speed and ran over one of the geese. The irony is that the car driver, Selvam, after hitting the bird near the women hostel did not even care to stop the car. He rushed further inside and vanished as though nothing had happened and reappeared in front of the Main Hall.

LEAST CARE FOR THE BIRD
Complaints were made to the Police. The police constables who are normally
inactive inside the campus, became active and took the dead the bird for postmortem?!

We plan to take the postmortem report and go to Blue Cross and file a complaint against the evil people who killed the bird.
THE LAST JOURNEY

Let this event be an eye opener for all those who are illegally occupying and creating irreversible damage to the beautiful campus. Your act is an attempt to kill the freedom and unique creative work-culture nurtured in our campus through traditional wisdom and perfect love over a century..


*UMA CATERERS: They are the caterers feeding all elements of the gang in the campus on their side in the name of (and at the expense of too) feeding the hostelers! Their monthly bills are in lakhs.
