The 'Goebbels" group

Joseph Goebbels, the propaganda minister of Hitler, is often associated with the expression "big lie" "colossal lie". Bishop and his coterie exceed Goebbels in telling lies and spreading rumors. "rumor"mongers.

Today's (25-03-2011) The Hindu & The New Indian Express published reports on the press conference arranged by the Bishop's coterie - Mr. Mohan, Rev(?). Arul Das and Stephen.

The highlights of the meeting with the press:

  • church has a role in deciding the policies of the college and the Church of South India Bishop has a “constitutional role to intervene” whenever situation warrants.
  • Directorate of Collegiate Education (DCE) had no role to play in the appointment of Principal and it could only give approval to the appointment after looking into qualification eligibility/norms
  • “We don't want American College to be totally independent of the church. At the same time, the pluralistic and secular ideals will be maintained. The composition of college governing council is highly secular. When you take the college away from the church, there are chances of the institution becoming elitist,” Dr. Aruldoss said. (Who are you to decide that the college should be dependent on Chruch? There is no room for personal whims and fancies.)
  • The college president Bishop appointed Dr. Mohan was appointed, and he assumed charge on December 1, 2010 and later was given another three-month extension up to May 31 by the Bishop.

One question still remains - "Did the DCE office give approval for Mr. Mohan?"

When the initial appointment and subsequent approval of Mr. Mohan as principal is questionable, how can the bishop give an extension to Mohan till 31st May?

The fact still remains is that:

The reply to Right to Information Act by the DCE Office clearly states that the office of DCE had not given any appointment or approval order for acting Principal Dr. Mohan.

Prof. RAJENDRA PANDIAN writes ...

As the Bishop feebly observed—in the last Governing Council meeting which he chaired in the Principal’s Committee Room—that the American College and the Diocese should come forward to “work together”, the faculty representatives said categorically that one of the secrets of our (read the College’s) success and reputation was the “respectable distance” that we had been maintaining with the Church, and that should continue. The Bishop, still venturing to overcome his embarrassment, said he had articulated only his “desire” and it was fine if the faculty felt “the distance should continue; rather than the fellowship”. If such was the Bishop’s response not long ago, when and where from did Prof. Stephen invent that “the CSI church has got a major role to play in policy making and the execution of the policies is vested with the professors”? (THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS, 25.3.11)

Is there a grain of truth in it?

Why this unscrupulous lying?
