I am sure you will be interested to know what happened yesterday at West Masi-North Masi Streets corner. It was a geand show of strength.Powers that rule our country these days and the officials who work for them understand such language better. The friends of American College who want to save the College gave a very good performance. Former Principal PTC, Retired Professors Winfred, Dinakaran Michael, Badwin Jawaharsingh, Rajaram, myself, Present Principal Chinnaraj Joseph, Mrs Chinnaraj Joseph and many faculty and non-teaching staff of the college and a large number of old students and many friends of the College were present. A special 'pandal' gave protection from the hot sun but the 'pandal' was overflowing and people did not mind standing in the hot sun to listen to Prof. Solomon Pappiah and many others. The logistics - seating arrangements, refreshment and drinking water supply etc were excellent. I am sure the public were convinced about the reality. Something could come out of it soon.
I am also sure many news paper and TV channels carried the news and clippings of the same however The Hindu as usual choose not to publish any account of the same.I feel sorry for the same.

Glad to note that a year has passed since the American College was restored to its legitimate administrative order by an appropriate judgement of the highest Court of Justice in Madurai and that the anniversary of the restoration was celebrated on July 28th with the participation of the faculty, past and present, the students, alumni-alumnae and the public of Madurai. It was heartening to see in the photograph attached to Prof.V.Srinivasan's note on the public celebrations, that the meeting was well-attended and got some fitting publicity in the press and other media. Hearty congratulations to the organizers and participants and best wishes for the continuing glory of the College.
