Sivakasi, January 30
A case of threatening to murder the administrator of a teacher training school has been registered against the Bishop of Ramanathapuram and Madurai diocese Christopher Asir and his two sons by the police here, who are investigating.
John Israel (58) of Visalakshi Nagar in Sivakasi was employed in the Ramanathapuram-Madurai CSI Diocese from May 22, 2006 to March 25, 2008. He has now obtained license to run a teacher training institute and was constructing a building for the institute at Chithamanayakkanpatti near Sivakasi.
John Israel is said to have made representations to the President of India
and others stating that Christopher Asir of Tallakulam, Madurai and his two sons Jeba Asir (38) and Goyachamy Asir (36) had misappropriated the funds of the diocese.
Angered by this Asir and his two sons had trespassed into the training institute compound on January 21, and pointing an iron spike had threatened to murder him, John Israel had said in his complaint at the M.Pudupatti police station.
Police have registered a case against the three persons and are conducting inquiries.
