Hi folks
Atleast the daily THE NEW INDIAN EXPRESS publishes without any influence from the bishoporic group. For instance on this same day another daily has published a news item claiming majority of the students attending the exam. We all know the validity of that daily. Glad to reproduce the news item in IE here to give you the REAL PICTURE.

AMERICAN COLLEGE ISSUE
SEMESTER EXAMS BEGIN; MAJORITY BOYCOTT
Express News Service,
Madruai, Nov 24
SEMESTER examinations commenced in American College with a low attendance due to boycott by a major section of students, on Monday.
Geroge Selvakumar, the principal of the college appointed by Chritopher Asir, the CSI bishop, conducts the semester examinations for the second term of the current academic year in which students supporting the bishop only participate.
It may be recalled that the students and faculty of the college have been divided into two groups since April 2008 under he wings of Chinnaraj Joseph, the dismissed principal, and the bishop who tried to establish his power upon the college.
In these circumstances, George Selvakumar, who has never got the approval of university, education department or the court as the principal of the college, announced the examination dates and published the time table. Students of some departments attended the examinations on the first day.
Only 50 students appeared for the Environmental Science paper which actually should be attended by around 1,500 students. At the same time, departments like MBA and MCA marked full attendance once again approving their firm support to the bishop. Talking to express, Anbudurai, the vice-principal, questioned the right which motivated George Selvakumar to conduct examinations.
Further, he reminded that the current examinations are being conducted under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for which the Madurai Kamaraj University asked the college governing council to redefine the syllabus. Renewal of the syllabus was completed but the anarchy in the college started before the date scheduled for the meeting of Academic Council to approve the new syllabus. In that way, the syllabus on which the examinations are being held is not valid. “If once the syllabus being cancelled in future, who will answer the question from these students.” he asked.
Again, CBCS is a system which requires continuous assessment and compulsory attendance. That would create problems to the students supporting the restrained principal and a section of them who don’t support any but not attending the classes. Again, though the students supporting the bishop have attended examination of some papers, they also have to appear for other papers which were being handled by teachers from our side. Such papers include language, majors and CBCS papers.
In that way, the illegal examinations being conducted by the ‘person who claims to be the principal’ ultimately is not useful to the students even to those who obey him, he said.
The vice-principal also demanded the university and the education department to act upon the issue on a war footing for the sake of the 3,500 students pursuing various disciplines in the college.

Thank you Samji for letting us to know the report appeared in the New Indian Express. At least this paper follows the ethics of Media and keeps the Spirit of Journalism. I hope The Hindu will not give any space to the Cause of The American College and larger interests of Students and Staff. If it so, there is no surprise, because The Hindu always "sells" itself to certain individuals with vested interests. We have to expose this media vandalism which is followed by most of the Dailies, Weeklies and other magazines.
