MADURAI: The State Government has been urged to intervene in the American College issue here to bring about an amicable settlement between the two warring factions and restore peaceful academic atmosphere.
A resolution calling for Government intervention was passed at the central executive committee meeting of the Madurai Kamaraj-Manonmaniam Sundaranar-Mother Teresa-Alagappa University Teachers’ Association (MUTA) held here recently. S. Vivekanandan, general secretary, in a press release, said that the Government, if required, could appoint a special officer to run the college administration till a settlement was reached.
