Sir,

"EXEMPLARY MASTERS"

I was moved when I saw my teachers, at their late age, were courageous enough to roar like LIONS to fight for a common cause on 25.04.2008 on a roadside demonstration programme.

Congratulations to my Masters - Prof. VASANTHAN & SAMUEL LAWRENCE ,who made me to like English, Prof.WINFRED, who provoked my interest in Zoology
and Ayya.SOLOMON PAPPIAH, who made me to love Tamil.

Ayya, you have taught me the Great Subramania Bharathi and Bharathidasan in class room. I was thrilled when you roared ‘ACHAMILLAI ACHAMILLAI… UCHIMEEDHU VAANIDUNTHU VEEZHUKINDRA POTHILUM’ in the meeting held on 25.04.2008. You are not a theoretician. You are following what you have taught us in class room in life also.

Mr.Winfred – I never expected such a smooth flow of Tamil speech from you, explaining each and every detail of the problem we are now facing, since you have not uttered even a single Tamil word during your classes. Only after hearing your speech, I fully understand the justification of our cause, we are fighting for.

The good spirited nationalistic speech by Mr.Chokkalingam, the veteran Congress leader of Madurai, hightened the morale of the audience, who attended the programme in support of the good cause to save the American College. The challenge put forth by him to the atrocious activities of the betrayers of the college was thought provoking.

The speech by Mr.John Moses, my senior in our college and the Janatha Dal General Secretary, took me to the earlier speeches by him when he was the chairman of the college students council.

The supportive speeches by the political leaders from the parties like CPI, Congress, BJP, MDMK, Vidhuthalai Siruthaigal, Bahujan Samaj Party, Pudhiya Thamizhagam and some other Dalit Parties have declared the ‘Victory’ of the movement for saving the American College.

Thanks to Mr.Parthasarathy for his well co-ordinated arrangement for the speeches. However, Ayya . Solomon Pappiah should have been given more time for his speech to explain more details about the problem since he had to cut short his speech for want of time.

Let us all unite to save the Great Educational Institution for the cause of future generation!
Let us not stop till we achieve our goal !!
Victory is ours…………

DOWN WITH DIOCESANIZATION!

Support for the college as demonstrated by our public, political leaders, senior colleagues and alumni on the 25th was awe-inspiring. It was reassuring when they declared in one voice that the American College would always be the property of the people of Madurai and not anyone else. They also ruled categorically that the college with its freedom should be protected and the Church had no business to meddle with it.

LONG LIVE THE AMERICAN COLLEGE AND DOWN WITH DIOCESANIZATION!
