I hear
Kappu has been trying to put up a brave face before his cronies. He has in his
hands the qualification approval given by Madurai Kamaraj University. He tells
them he will get his Secretaryship approved by the Director of Collegiate Education.
Mammon worshipers of the College say even if Maama is gone, Mammon will get Kappu anything he wants.
Breastbeaters and mischief makers who fear real fight with Kappu and broker
secret peace with him day in and day out say, “Kappu is a monster, he will win
finally… you be quiet.”
But I
say to you, ”Kappu will be removed legally soon”. The two Writ Petitions that
have been filed in the Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) in fact are the last
nails in the coffin. There are two serious contentions: first, Kappu’s
appointment is in serious violation of principles of natural justice and is bad
in law. Second, the qualification approval given by Madurai Kamaraj University
is a laughable matter. He has been given approval by the moribund MKU in terms
of non-existent UGC Regulation 2000. (Read Indian Express 11, July 2012).
There is
an old saying, “Every thief leaves some evidence in the scene of crime.” But
here is a situation where someone has left his biometric ID proof, an address
book of his hideouts and of course very sentimentally a copy of his jathakam (horoscope) too. Still some
jugglery can happen as Kappu has a few court managers. But a good josier (astrologer) is soon to arrive to
read his jathagam.
The
Tamil month of Aadi is said to be not
very auspicious. Even your ammi (grinding
stone) will fly off in the high velocity wind. Beware it does not hit you on
its way. So I say “Do not be frightened by the brave face of the enemy; do not
be cowed down by his chest-up walks and indolent talks; do not hear the
poisonous lies of the false prophets of the Western Temple; look at sunrise
every morning”. For Kappu, ” As the Luke Gospel says, stay awake all the time
praying that you may have strength to escape all these things which are going
to take place…”
